military resettlement
ARE YOU JUST ABOUT TO LEAVE THE SERVICES?
OK, you’ve either come to the end of your time, or you’ve decided for a change in direction in your life. Chances are that you’re not really sure what you want to do. What you do know is that you have a resettlement package, possibly some enhanced learning credits and you don’t want to waste it. You could do a woodwork course, or attend briefings about jobs that are not really your cup of tea. However, the fact that you have made contact with us says that you’re looking for something different.
WHAT CAN WE OFFER?
Triton Scuba have been running resettlement training courses in the recreational diving industry since 1999, longer than anyone else offering similar packages, and we can offer you the start you need for a new career in the sports diving industry. The leisure market is a growth area and full of opportunities. We organize scuba diving training that can put you on the right track to make the most of those opportunities. Our packages are tailored to meet your diving experience (or total lack of it), match your aspirations and maximize your resettlement grants, ensuring that you get value for money and, more importantly, that you don’t have to delve too deeply into your own pocket Even if you have never dived before, the potential for you to gain qualifications and work in one of the fastest growing leisure industries in the world and have fun, is well within your grasp. Train with us, and you could be working within sports diving anywhere in the World before you know it.
WHY CHOOSE US?
We have several advantages over our competitors:
- Firstly, we are ex-military. We understand the issues, problems and concerns when you are leaving the Services. We have been through the resettlement process ourselves so we know the pitfalls and hurdles
- We understand the resettlement “system” and can provide sound advice and assistance with the administrative details.
- We have an office in the UK, open 7 days a week, so you can always contact us. If you are training at one of our overseas centres you do not have to write prolonged email conversations or spend a fortune on international telephone calls; we do that for you.
- All our resettlement packages are tailor made to suit your needs and aspirations. We have a fixed fee so that you get the most from your grants.
- We run our own dive centre in the UK and we also have a branch in Egypt so we know a bit about the industry. Advice on getting started in a diving business is provided free of charge when you train with us.
- We have many years experience of running training for military personnel.
-We offer work placement advice on completion of your training and actively help you to find work. Many of our clients are actually working at our training centres.
ABOUT OUR DIVE CENTRE BRANCHES
Our UK branch, Triton Scuba, is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre and Vocational Centre based in Portsmouth and one of the finest and busiest centres in the UK. Our resident PADI Course Director, David Jones, is ex-Services having spent 17 years in the Royal Engineers. Having been diving for 30 years he knows a thing or two. There is also a branch of the company in Egypt, operating out of Dahab. Training is undertaken by our newest member of staff, Ed Poore. Ed served in the RLC for a few years and has run his own dive centre for many years. He is one of the most experienced and highly qualified Course Directors in Egypt with a great track record of sucess.
The great thing about Triton, is that between our two branches we have the flexibility to provide a full range of training opportunities that suit you, whether its in the UK or overseas. Full Instructor Development Courses are run throughout the year as are Speciality Training Programmes, First Aid Instructor and various other programmes. So let us know what you want and we will try to make it happen for you.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Anyone can apply! If you have never dived before, but you like the water, you are reasonably fit without any medical problems that might preclude you from diving, and you’re well motivated, then we can train you. If you are already a qualified diver, let us know what your standard is; we can provide additional training up to PADI instructor level. We can also do powerboat and first aid training - there is not much we can’t teach to be honest.
WHAT IS THE TRAINING LIKE?
All of our training courses follow strict guidelines and all our instructors are fully qualified with a great deal of experience. Training is conducted at your own pace, but it is important that you realize that this is not just an attendance course. You will be expected to work hard and learn new skills and drills. You will also have to pass exams before you can gain your qualifications. These are multiple choice and don’t be daunted by this prospect; our instructors are there to help and ensure that you succeed.
It all depends on your experience, your speed of progress, the amount of time that you have available for resettlement training and how much time you would like to spend doing it.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The cost will vary depending on your own requirements. Suffice to say, we maximize your resettlement grant in order to minimize costs to you so that you don’t have to reach into your own pocket too deeply.
HOW MUCH DEPOSIT DO I NEED TO PAY?
Once we have put together your package and you are happy with it we will let you know.
WHAT ABOUT MANUALS?
There are a number of manuals that you will need and these are provided for you on your courses.
DO I NEED MY OWN DIVING EQUIPMENT?
Scuba diving gear is provided for the duration of your training although the majority of our students have their own basic equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and boots). If you do not have these we can provide them, again at a discounted price. We do recommend that if you are undertaking the Instructors Examination that you have, and are used to, your own equipment. Please indicate on the student information sheet whether you require a quotation for equipment.
I’M INTERESTED, WHAT NEXT? If you are interested by the idea of diving as a career, or you just want to do something different as part of your resettlement, the next step is to provide us with more details. We need to know when you are leaving, how much resettlement time you have, what your experience is and what you would like to do. Please tell us as much as you can and we will design a package to suit you. If you’re not quite sure what you want, or you would like more information, please telephone our office on (023) 92 838 773 and we will try to help.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
