more support to the community ....

We are very fortunate here at Triton Scuba.  We get to have fun, do what we like (within reason), travel, socialise, enjoy the marine environment and generally enjoy life.  However, it is important to remember that not everyone is so lucky and that having an environment we can enjoy comes with responsibility.  We actively support a number of worthwhile charities and have some great fun raising money and awareness.  There are more details about the charities we support below and you can click on the logos to go to their websites.  To find out how we go about raising money, click here, or use the link on the right hand side menu.

The Rowans Hospice is a specialist centre providing palliative care to seriously ill patients from Portsmouth and the surrounding area in a relaxing environment.  Palliative care is delivered to patients with varying illnesses which no longer respond to curative treatment.  The centre's aim is to achieve the best quality of life for each patient by relieving physical symptoms; by offering emotional and spiritual support to patients, their families and friends; and by enabling each individual to live their remaining life as comfortably and fully as possible

The Rainbow Centre exists primarily to help children with motor impairment, the most common cause of which is cerebral palsy, learn to overcome their difficulties using a system of learning called Conductive Education.   Cerebral palsy is a condition caused through lack of oxygen to the brain during pregnancy, during the delivery, or after the birth. One in four hundred babies is affected and the condition is not curable, but the difficulties experienced can be overcome in many cases.

more support for the environment ....

The Project AWARE Foundation, established in 1992, is the dive industry's leading non-profit organisation committed to conserving the underwater environments through education, advocacy and action.  AWARE stands for Aquatic World Awareness Responsibility and Education.  The organization is committed to educating the world as to the plight of the aqautic environment, something upon which we all depend.  The conservation of the underwater environment, our seas lakes and rivers is an integral part of the survival of mankind.

The RNLI as you all know, provides a 24 hour life saving service around the UK.  Without them many more lifes would be lost at sea.  The RNLI is funded entirely by donations and money raised goes directly towards giving volunteer crews the training they need to save lives.  Each year it costs over £1000 per crew member to keep them trained and ready for action.  As divers we are more involved with the sea than most people, so it kind of makes sense to us that we give them our support.
