We have one of the busiest and most active dive clubs in the UK, with well over 100 members. The club gets up to all sorts of things, including monthly social meetings, holidays abroad and weekend trips away more locally.
There are plenty of advantages to becoming a member of the club. First of all you get free air whenever you need it. If you want nitrox then that is discounted at 10% off. The monthly meetings include a slap up meal and this is included in your monthly membership; we even get a discount on the bar prices at our normal meeting location. For those of you still looking to buy equipment club membership brings with it a 10% discount on pretty much everything in the dive centre. There are a couple of exceptions such as books and camera equipment, but other than that it pretty much covers everything.
We have some pretty amazing club trips as well. During the summer we have regular weekends away, to places such as Portland, Plymouth and North Cornwall. These are always fully subscribed and are great fun. However one of the highlights of the club are the holidays we organise. In the past we have run trips to the Philippines, Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico and the Galapagos Islands. These trips are always put together in a way that reduces costs, and some of the bargains we get are quite simply amazing.
