The coast around West Sussex and the Isle of Wight has some great diving and Triton Scuba is ideally situated if you want to explore it. A naval base throughout history, the waters around Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight are abundant with a large number of wrecks from both World Wars and before. Everything from wooden sailing ships to submarines and ocean liners. The depths range from about 17 metres to 45 metres, but the majority of the major wrecks can be found in about 20 – 30 metres making it ideal for recreational diving.
Visibility in the area can be variable. On a good day, 10m is possible and at 35m you can see without a torch. However, most of the time we get around 4 – 6m depending on what the tides are doing.
Having dived the area for many years we know just about all the wrecks in the area so if you want to know more just ask. We think the diving is fantastic and we hope you will join us to find out why.
We have a regular programme of dives throughout the season, however, if there is something you particualrly want to do let us know – we will be more than happy to help you.
