The PADI Tec 45 course takes the training already covered during the Tec 40 programme and increases the complexity and knowledge and skills base. The diver must use a full ‘standardised “tech rig” or sidemount system, including wings and twin tanks, plus an additional decompression cylinder.
The course takes 2 days during which time you will undertake 4 open water dives. On completion it qualifies you to dive to 45 metres/145 feet and make accelerated decompression dives using any mix of EANx or even pure oxygen. You must have the equivalent of a Tec 40 rating to enrol on this course. The cost of the course is £349, which includes all materials, certification and equipment. Gas, boat fees or site entrance fees are payable in addition.
