It is always nice to be recognized when you do something well and at the recent Oceanic dealer seminar we were awarded a “Dealer of the Year” trophy for our work with the Hollis technical range of equipment. Not too shabby eh?

Glove Test – O’Neill versus Mako – Tested by Nigel Clay
O’Neil 3mm Gloves v Oceanic Mako 5mm Gloves
We turned up at Vobster the other Sunday to water at a chilly 4 degrees. Is this the right time to try a 3mm glove I ask myself? Could have waited for warm climes!
Off we went for the first dive with the O’Neil 3mm gloves on. These gloves have a small internal seal around the wrist. Very easy to pull on dry. The question is, do they let in water. I can safely say they do when wearing a dry suit, however the seal does mean they act like a semi dry and do not let water out again. Oh yes easy to pull on wet as well. Read More…
New Sidemount Divers
Many congratulations to the new sidemount divers who qualified at the weekend in some pretty chilly conditions.
Instructor and DM Meeting – 21 January 2011
In order to maintain high standards of training and excellence we believe it is important to have regular staff meetings. This allows us to pass on information from PADI and the industry in general to our instructional staff. The latest meeting also included a look at the O’Neill range of diving wetsuits. Minutes of the meeting will be available to all instructors.
TecRec Xplor Day
We attended the TecRec Xplor day in Portland on 4th December and it was a pretty good day out. There were only a few stands there, but there was a lot of interest in the Sidemount system and Ian did around 20 try dives on the gear in the pool.
Christmas Ball and January 2011 Club night

More Filming – this time it’s Trout!
Filming in Norway
Recently I had the opportunity to fly to Norway with Tooni Mahto (BBC Oceans) and cameraman John McIntyre to film on a cod farm in Tromso just inside the Arctic circle. The progrmme is for Jamie Oliver’s company and is called “Jamie’s Fish Supper” so make sure you check it out on Channel 4 in the New Year
