IANTD normoxic trimix diver

Gas switching on a trimix diveThe IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver programme is designed to train divers to conduct dives to depths between 39 and 60 metres, on open circuit, or closed circuit rebreathers.  Trimix affords the means to reduce narcosis and decompression times.  This course opens up a whole new world to the diver.  Wrecks and dive sites that were previously "out of range" all become possible.  The course follows on from either the Advanced Nitrox or the Technical course.  Dives are always conducted with stages and dives all include decompression stops.  Topics covered include:

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix course is run over 5 days.  Divers who are already qualified as Technical Divers need only do the 3 trimix dives of the programme over a 3 day period.  In order to participate on this course students must have an advanced nitrox qualification with a minimum of 100 logged dives of which at least 30 were deeper than 27 metres, or they must have a basic nitrox certification, proof of 150 logged dives of which at least 50 were deeper than 27 metres.  Students undertaking this programme on closed circuit rebreathers must have at least 20 dives and 25 hours of experience on the rebreather being used.   Minimum age is 18 years.  For more information and course costs contact the dive centre.
