Triton Scuba Diving Training

open water referalPADI eLearning

more flexibility ....

If you are thinking of travelling abroad (a bit like Pete Hulme on the right - read his story in the "About Us section") and doing some diving in the warm waters of the Med, or the Caribbean, then it could be that the open water referral is the course for you.  Why spend 3 days of your precious holiday sat in a classroom and a swimming pool when you should be enjoying the wonders of the open water in your destination?

more convenience ....

Diving in TobagoConducted over one weekend, the Open Water Referral here at Triton Scuba provides you with all the pool training and theory you need so that you can then go off on your holiday and finish off the open water dives with a dive centre in your holiday destination.  This option is particularly popular in the winter months when the UK waters are a bit chilly, although we find that most of our referral students end up completing the full course because they are having so much fun.  Don't worry, if you decide to do that it is not a problem.  For the ultimate in convenience and flexibility click on the eLearning logo above.

better training ....

Pool training on the Open Water courseThe course is broken down into a number of modules to make learning easy and fun. We will need you to do a bit of studying before you start the course.  We will give you the latest multi-media teaching materials to help.  Alternatively you might decide to do the studying on-line through the PADI eLearning programme.  To find out more about email click on the logo at the top of the page.

Over the weekend we will cover the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment, techniques, safety aspects and planning. These sessions are supported by swimming pool dives. You will spend 6 hours in the pool which is much more than many dive centres.  Once completed we provide you with a referral form which you take away to your holiday destination to complete your training in warmer climes.

better value ....

Triton Scuba provides all the equipment that you will need for training. We believe that when you buy your equipment you should have some knowledge of diving and what you want. So don't rush into it. All the equipment is provided for the course. When you do decide to invest in your own gear, we know what is good and what is not and can provide you with appropriate expert and impartial advice when making purchases.

The price of the open water referral course is just £199, but please remember when making comparisons that this includes everything you need, including your manuals, tables, log books, pool entry fees and certificates ... and 6 hours of pool training time.  There is nothing else to pay.  If you use the eLearning programme you will need to pay an additional US$120 directly to PADI through their on-lining booking system.

more fun ....

Whilst you do not have to be a good swimmer, you do need water confidence. At some point in your course, your PADI Instructor will ask you to demonstrate this ability, by swimming 200 metres without swimming aids and treading water for 10 minutes. Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. However there are occasions and conditions when diving can be strenuous, and so a Medical Declaration Form must be completed before any training can take place.
