better training ....
The PADI Open Water Course is designed for the absolute beginner, and will give you a diving qualification, recognised world-wide, and will be your passport to a lifetime of adventure! The certification is a lifetime award and qualifies you to dive down to 18 metres with someone of the same level. We think our OW course is the best around and our record speaks for itself. We have grown faster than any other dive centre, offer more courses, have the lowest instructor to student ratios, and run the most courses. Our results speak for themselves.
more convenient ....
Our PADI Open Water Courses are run over two weekends (you can split them if you want) and a new course starts every other week. The course is broken down into a number of modules to make learning easy and fun. Before you come on the course you need to do a bit of home study. We provide you with the latest multi media packs to help guide you through these sessions. If you prefer you can also do this training on-line through our eLearning facility. To find out more about eLearning click here or on the eLearning logo.
The first weekend covers the theory side of life and all the pool work - essential before we take you into open water. We will cover the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment, techniques,
safety aspects and planning. These sessions are supported by swimming pool
dives. We include 6 hours of pool time broken
down over a period of two days. This is more than most dive centres
offer. Once this has been completed and you have passed an easy multiple choice
exam you are fully prepared for the last 2 days of t
he course, where in full
equipment, which is now familiar, you complete your course by making four
open water dives. Dates are reasonably flexible and you can
switch between weekends if you need to. Note that we do run several
mid-week courses throughout the year, so if weekends are difficult for you
let us know. If you struggle with any section of the course then don't
worry. You can come back to re-do any section as many times as it takes
at no extra charge.
better value ....
Triton Scuba provides all the equipment that you will need for training. We believe that when you buy your equipment you should have some knowledge of diving and what you want. So don't rush into it. All the equipment is provided for the course. When you do decide to invest in your own gear, we know what is good and what is not and can provide you with appropriate expert and impartial advice when making purchases.
The price of the course is £319. While we might not offer the cheapest course around we do believe it is the best value given the friendly quality of the training and what we include in the package. This includes everything you need, all equipment hire, your manuals, tables, log books and certification. The only additional payment is site entry fees or boat fees - this is dependent on location but is around £30. There is nothing else to pay. Our Open Water courses are extremely popular and fill up quickly, so make sure you book early. Call the Dive Centre to check availability. If you decide to do the eLearning programme there is an additional fee of US$120 payable directly to PADI
Whilst you do not have to be a good swimmer, you do need water confidence. At some point in your course, your PADI Instructor will ask you to demonstrate this ability, by swimming 200 metres without swimming aids, and doing a 10 minute float/tread water. Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. However there are occasions and conditions when diving can be strenuous, and so a Medical Declaration Form must be completed before any training can take place.
