RYA Powerboat Training

Power boating is great fun, but it is important that you get the right training in order to operate a powerful boat safely.  The best way is to undertake an RYA Powerboat course.  There are a number of courses available but the best way to start is either with a level 1, or level 2 course.  These take 1 or 2 days respectively.

The Level 1 course provides the rudiments of handling ribs and planing boats.  Level 2 goes into high speed manoeuvres and navigation in a lot more detail.  Choose a powerboat school on the coast if you can - it will ensure that you have a coastal endorsement to your qualification.  And don't forget to ask what boat they have; you don't want to learn in a 4 foot inflatable when you own a 30 foot cruiser.  Finally, don't forget to select a RYA Powerboat Training School as only these can offer a good range of training course.
