The PADI Search and Recovery Diver speciality course is designed to cover a variety of search and recovery techniques.  It sounds pretty serious, but this is a real fun course!  Topics covered include:

• Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of search and recovery diving
• limited visibility diving and underwater navigation techniques
• Proper techniques and safety considerations for object location, including the use of various search patterns, lines and reels
• Proper techniques and safety considerations for the recovery of objects using various lifting devices

The course is conducted over two days and includes 4 open water dives.  The price of the course is £199 which includes the crewpack, equipment and certification.  Dive site entry fees are payable in addition.  To participate on this course you must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water Divers or a similar qualification from another training organization.  Alternatively, if you are an Open Water diver and already have the Navigation Speciality course you may also participate in this programme.   Minimum age is 12 and you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
